About Divinely Discontent
Divinely Discontent is a constructive home for Amazon marketplace sellers. We exist for operators who are frustrated — and who still want a dialogue with Amazon, not a public breakup.
The name comes from Amazon’s own Day 1 language. Jeff Bezos wrote that customers are “divinely discontent”: yesterday’s wow becomes today’s ordinary. In the same breath he named millions of sellers as part of what Amazon is. We take that constructive hunger and apply it to marketplace operators who refuse to treat yesterday’s process as good enough.
We thank Jeff Bezos for building FBA — the program that let independent brands scale with world-class logistics. Gratitude first. And because he taught Amazon to love customers who keep raising the bar, we believe sellers can bring that same posture to the partnership: keep what works, fix due process, policy clarity, and trust.
What we are not
- Not anti-Amazon. The marketplace still matters to independent brands.
- Not rage-bait. Frustration is real; burning the bridge rarely helps.
- Not an official Amazon program, union, or law firm. We organize voice — letters, briefings, and patterns — with data and dignity.
How we work
Isolated tickets disappear. Patterns don’t. When sellers surface the same issues with a steady hand, the room listens differently. We collect themes (account health, appeals, policy whiplash, economics) and show up ready to solve — not only to complain.
Amazon wins when sellers thrive. Sellers win when Amazon is a reliable partner. We’re here for that shared future.
Who operates this site
Divinely Discontent is operated by Steve Simonson. Photos from Amazon Seller Love at Lake Union on this site are his, shared with thanks for a human room — badges, rooftops, and hard-won businesses.
If that voice is yours, add it. No spam. No rage-bait. Updates when we have something worth saying.
